Israel: White City Tel Aviv - the moderne beweging
Tel Aviv werd opgericht in 1909 ten noorden van de ommuurde havenstad Jaffa, op de heuvels langs de oostelijke kust van de Middellandse Zee. De stad ontwikkelde zich als een metropool onder het Britse Mandaat in Palestina. De Witte Stad werd gebouwd vanaf de vroege jaren ‘30 tot de jaren ‘50 op basis van het stedenbouwkundig plan van Sir Patrick Geddes en weerspiegelde moderne organische planningsprincipes. De gebouwen zijn ontworpen door architecten die werden opgeleid in Europa, waar ze hun beroep uitoefenden voordat zij naar Israël emigreerden. Ze creëerden een buitengewoon architectonisch complex van de Moderne Beweging binnen een nieuwe culturele context.

Wow, this is really impressive. You certainly spent a lot of time on this project. I will probably wait till I'm on vacation (go to North Carolina Outer Banks annual family trip Oct. 3) to look at it all. Been kind of hectic around here lately. My son broke his arm, grandson in law works for an electric company and he was sent to Alabama to help restore power to homes and businesses. Been gone for two weeks. Grandson, Justin, was quarintined for two weeks as he had contact with someone that had Covid 19, His tests came back yesterday and is cleared. My best girlfriend died Thursday from COPD and congestive heart failure. Etc. etc. Life is a mess sometimes.
Hope all is well with you and Jan. Bet you sure miss traveling. But it looks like you've already been EVERYWHERE there is to go! haha. Better close for now. I've got to go see my little ones play soccer in the morning. (Wesley 7, Kinsley 4 and Chloe 3) They are so cute running around. Joy
